Today, on Wellness Wednesday, I want to revisit a topic that’s simply too important to overlook: the crucial role of magnesium in our bodies. Are we truly getting enough of this vital mineral? If not, what steps can we take to ensure we do?

It plays a pivotal role in preventing the calcification of arteries, which can lead to serious cardiovascular issues, and in keeping our joints healthy and free from arthritis. Without sufficient magnesium, even vitamin B1 struggles to perform its role in energy production and nerve function.
The bottom line is that without magnesium, our bodies can’t create the cellular energy needed for day-to-day functioning, making it the most vital mineral in the entire body.

However, not all magnesium supplements are created equal. It’s crucial to choose high-quality supplements to ensure you’re getting the best possible absorption and effectiveness.
With so many types of magnesium supplements available, which is the best? Magnesium citrate is often recommended for its superior absorption and effectiveness. For those focused on muscle recovery and relaxation, magnesium glycinate might be the better choice, while magnesium threonate is noted for its cognitive benefits.
